Hummingbirds at SF Botanical Garden 08/01/20

Walked around the wonderful SF Botanical Garden and enjoyed watching the little hummingbirds fly around. Today, they were particularly active- so got a few shots of them- I think they look great with the greens and purples of the plants they are feeding from. (Click to enlarge images)

The Dahlia Dell (Garden) is Golden Gate Park, San Francisco 8/1/20

The Dahlia Garden is Golden Gate Park, San Francisco 8/1/20- It was still a bit cool with the fog just burning off. Had a chance to meet one of the Dahlia volunteer gardeners- Patricia Hunter and she taught me a bit about the garden, shared about how a specific variety of dahlia was created to remember Robin Williams, - called “For Robin” to remember the late great comedian, and showed my the dahlia that has been created in her name. Roadtrip in July 2020- Bald Eagles on the Rogue River in Grants Pass, OR

In the age of Covid, I took a road trip to celebrate my upcoming 40th birthday. I stopped at Jedediah Smith Redwoods Forest, and then on to Grants Pass where I did a Hellgate Jetboat tour and saw some bald eagles, an few osprey, and a green heron. Then continued my tour over to Crater Lake and saw this Clark’s nutcracker against the beautiful blue backdrop of Crater Lake.
